What a fantastic weekend we had at Smallbridge Dam, thank you to everyone who made the journey and joined us for this event and hope that you had a great time too.  The weather was brilliant on race day and the venue was superb as always.

We were so excited to learn that our Elite Athlete Andie Kuipers is home and would be joining us – it was great to have her back on home ground. She gave a talk to all our athletes about her journey as an Elite Athlete on the World Triathlon circuit, the highs and lows of what it takes to compete at that level – an inspiration to all our youngsters. She also joined an AG team in a fun Open Water Swim relay competing against a team made up of our youth and juniors …. the results tell the final tale 🙂 it was great fun to watch !!

Racing conditions were good – the water temperature on race day was 23 degrees which meant no wet suits – the bike course was technical and fast – it was very warm on race day so we were ready and prepared to manage all the athletes at the finish line with heat management procedures.  Congratulations and well done to everyone who participated in all the events on the programme – triathlon, aquathlon, duathlon, open water swim, TriRun 5km fun run and aquabike – there were some great times achieved and valuable selection points earned by the Junior and Youth athletes. Coach Gerald Chiposi arrived with a team of athletes who had travelled all the way from Chimanimani to participate in the Aquathlon and Duathlon events. Congratulations to the winners in the Lucky Draw who took home a beautiful Bedding Pack kindly donated by KDV Bedding.

The results from the day’s events have been sent out and have been uploaded to the Results page. A gallery of photos from the weekend can also be viewed below – more pics being added all the time – thank you to all who have contributed to the galleries and sharing on our social media platforms – please go and have a look and tag yourselves on our Facebook page and feel free to add your photos as well.

It goes without saying that this event would not have been possible without the support and sponsorship from KDV BEDDING – a huge thank you from the Triathlon Zimbabwe family for your support and we look forward to hosting this event on December 2024 – it is always a great favorite on the season calendar.

There are many others whose support and assistance was invaluable and we extend our sincere thanks to the following –
