Our Elite Female ANDIE KUIPERS competed in the 2026 Africa Triathlon Championships in Hurghada, Egypt. 12 of the top U23 and Elite Women in Africa lined up to test themselves over a gruelling Standard distance to see who would be crowned the Africa Triathlon Champion.
Coach Pamela Fulton reported that it was a hot, hot day in Hurghada when the Elite women competed at midday over the Olympic distance with temperatures soaring to 34 degrees with extreme winds which made the race extremely tough.
Andie was 5th African out the water and rode like a demon dropping the 3 ladies with her – the 10km run was so tough and exhausting for all of the participants
Andie crossed the finish line as the 5th African athlete. South Africa’s Shanae Williams was phenomenal and took the 2026 Africa Championship title.
Well done to all the ladies and a sincere thank you to World Triathlon, Africa Triathlon and Egyptian Triathlon Federation for a great weekend of racing.
