John Goddard competed in the Africa Triathlon Youth Championships held in Hurghada, Egypt this weekend. The U17, U15 and U13 youth men all started together – a field of over 50 young men lined up to compete for their nation.
John had an EXCELLENT race winning the BRONZE MEDAL in the U15 youth category – the pace was intense right from the beginning with all the athletes trying to find clear water.
John exited the water 12th overall managing to join the 2nd pack on the bike. He narrowly missed an accident in the pack ahead and entered T2 safely. He had the run of his life to finish 15th overall and 3rd U15 in Africa.
