Well done and massive congratulations to our 2026 YOUTH OLYMPIAN RACHEL O’DONOGHUE who competed today in the 2026 Youth Women’s event at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
A field of 32 of the worlds best young female athletes took to the start line and what an incredible race it was. Rachel finished in 18th position in a time of 01:05:07 – a phenomenal achievement in incredibly hot conditions
Our good friend and supporter of Triathlon Zimbabwe, the IOC President Dr Kirsty Coventry, was at the race and spent some time with Rachel, Coach Pamela Fulton, President Ross O’Donoghue and the O’Donoghue family – what an honor !!
To say that Triathlon Zimbabwe are so proud of Rachel and what she achieved today is an understatement – she went out there and gave it everything – she is and always be AN OLYMPIAN
From Zimbabwe Olympic Committee –
“Rachel O’Donoghue has delivered an incredible performance at the Dakar Youth Olympic Games in Senegal, finishing 18th overall in the women’s triathlon and crossing the line as the second-fastest African athlete ! 🌍
