Huge congratulations to ANDIE KUIPERS who has qualified to compete at the 2019 ITU World Triathlon Grand Final being held in Lausanne, Switzerland at the end of August 2019.
Africa are allocated a specific number of slots and Zimbabwe had to be in the top 4 countries over the line at African Championships held in Mauritius in June this year.
Although she placed 9th overall at the African Champs, Zimbabwe were the 2nd country over the finish line (positions 1 – 8 all being South Africans) and therefore secured a slot at the World Grand Finals.  Andie will be travelling to Morocco to compete at the African Games and will fly straight on to Switzerland to compete at Worlds.  Andie will be accompanied by Coach/Manager Pam Fulton.
Our sincere thanks go to the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee and Sports and Recreation Commission for all of their financial and logistical support in ensuring that Andie gets to compete for her country at this level.
In addition, we are very excited to confirm that we will also have another athlete, ANTHEA ERASMUS,  who will be competing under the Zimbabwe flag in the 50-54 AG Women Sprint Event.
Anthea is an accomplished horse-woman and has only been doing triathlon for about a year.  She sadly suffered an injury earlier this year and was unable to compete at SA Champs, however, once her injury healed she competed at ITU events in Leeds and Nottingham in the United Kingdom and has recently returned from training camps in Switzerland.  Anthea was brought up and educated in Bulawayo and is based in South Africa.
We wish both our athletes the VERY BEST – carry our flag high and do your very best.  Your home supporters will be following you every step of the way.  CONGRATULATIONS LADIES !!!
