WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE TURNOUT ON SUNDAY 31ST OCTOBER!!!  Thank you to EVERYONE who came down to Mount Pleasant for the 10th edition of PINK DAY and supported this event – we had over 300 participants … this surely must be a record turnout.

There was a sea of pink, pink and more pink – everyone rose to the occasion and were decked out in all shades of pink – with feathers and sparkly bits – it was wonderful !!!  Congratulations to the SUPER BEAMERS – Michele, Alexis, Olivia, Savannah and little James who were chosed as the winners of the Best Dressed Pinksters and were awarded with some beautiful prizes courtesy of Bratz Basement.  Congratulations also to all the SPOT PRIZE WINNERS – some fantastic prizes were given out so thank you to all the prize donors for your generosity and support.

We will let you know how much $$$$$ and ZWL was raised today – thank you also for the donations made – all these funds will be donated to the Cancer Centre – once our Treasurer has done the final recon we will let you know the total funds raised.

We would like to thank you all for your cooperation and adherence to all the Covid protocols and precautionary measures that were in place, there were a few slight delays here and there due to the volume of athletes but all in all, everything ran smoothly and it sure looked like everyone had fun.  Thank you also to everyone who preregistered online – this was hugely helpful in the preparation of the Athlete Check In Registers and Start Lists – please continue to use the Online Registration portal on the website for each event 😊

In addition to thanking Debi Jeans, The Pink Project and the event sponsors ZIMWORX, Triathlon Zimbabwe would like to extend a few additional special votes of thanks to the following –

Mr Andy Mallon, Mr Lol Ribeiro and the brilliant team from SAFEGUARD ZIMBABWE for the fantastic job done today at the Check Points, Bag Drop and out on the course – the service provided at all our events, was truly top notch – to Andy and Lol and the Safeguard team – THANK YOU !!

A special note to you all from Debi Jeans – “It takes a village to rase a child.”  African Proverb-  “It also takes a village to raise funds for cancer; every one of you should be proud of who we are and what we collectively did today.”  Debi Jeans – Proudly Zimbabwean
