Triathlon Zimbabwe are proud to confirm that 4 of our Junior triathletes, Mikayla Colegrave (Hellenic Academy), Andie Kuipers (Peterhouse Girls), Marcel Paulser (Peterhouse Boys) and Matthew Denslow (Hellenic Academy), have been selected as prospective competitors at the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) being held in Buenos Aires in October 2018.

The road to YOG will be long and hard but will also be fun and full of new life experiences.  None of the athletes are guaranteed a place at YOG and there are several events involved leading up to the final Qualifying Event.  These fine young athletes will also have to compete in various events in 2018 – our National Championships in February, SA Champs in March, Africa Champs in April (Rabat, Morocco) and the final qualifying event at the Africa Youth Games in Algiers, Algeria in July.  A YOG Camp and race is being held in AGADIR, MOROCCO from 1-9 November – Mikayla, Andie and Marcel will be travelling to Agadir accompanied by National Coach Pam Fulton this coming week to attend the camp.  Regrettably, Matthew is unable to attend due to academic commitments as he is currently writing Public Examinations.  They will have a full program of events, team building exercises, lectures and training with other athletes from all over Africa – a very exciting week ahead for them all.  We would like to wish them all the very best in their endeavours over the next few months and will keep the Triathlon Family updated on their progress.
