Together with the sponsors of this event, Triumph Through Triathlon Trust (T4), the President, Executive Board and Race Organising Committee of Triathlon Zimbabwe, we cannot thank you enough for the wonderful turnout today for the inaugural T4 Movember Fundraiser organised to raise funds for the Cancer Registry and raise awareness about Men’s Cancer and health issues in Zimbabwe.
A message from Ms Tafadzwa Makadzange-Chigumire of T4 –
“Today our charity had our first triathlon and I am so thankful to Triathlon Zimbabwe for everything they did to make it happen. Without them it wouldn’t have!
It’s been a long year and the changes, responsibilities and stresses that Covid-19 have brought in have changed our lives but for many the stresses of illness, loss and fear of the unknown have always been there. But in the time of Corona we have also learned that there is light after darkness, the joy of recovery, the peace that comes with knowing the love of family and friends.
Earlier this year we met Professor Borok, Eric and her team at the Cancer Registry. Without the work that they do it would be difficult to quantify the incidence, prevalence and occurrence of cancer in Zimbabwe, as T4 we decided to assist them in getting better at their work.  We cannot fight the scourge of cancer if we don’t know what it is, where it is and how bad it is.
Thank you to our team, thank you to our supporters for prizes & for everyone who turned out this morning. Your support is greatly appreciated. Proceeds from today will go towards fixing the ceiling at the registry before the rains set in”.
Our treasurer is doing the final tally of monies and once all funds have been received we will give a final figure on what was raised today from race entry fees and donations – your generosity and support for such a great cause was wonderful and we thank you all for your support.  We hope that we have made enough to cover the costs for the project planned by T4.
